Everybody eats at Bedie's table.
My grandmother Bedie's table was already there the day I was born, and it's still standing today. It's where we did our homework, gathered for family meetings, and bowed our heads over holiday meals. Bedie always sat at the head, and my grandfather Walter sat at the other end.
Every child dreamed of a seat at that table, but you had to grow into one. My mother grew up around it, and she fed me there too. Bedie never met a stranger, so there was always room for one more.
Every company I run carries that table forward.
